Education & Curriculum
Our Briefing Note - Curriculum Development 2022-2023 - highlights the importance of focusing on critical thinking across the curriculum when engaging young people in learning about sex and gender. It explains the challenges faced in schools and how the UK Equality Network provides a solution.
The UK Equality Network is a nationwide organisation established to provide evidence-based and innovative training and resources designed to help public and private sector organisations to understand the Equality Act 2010 and its implications in their work.
The growing prevalence of transgender ideology in schools, with an emphasis on ‘gender self-identification’*, has resulted in two significant challenges which are affecting young people and the adults responsible for teaching them:
1. Young people are unquestioningly accepting the ideology as fact and responding accordingly.
2. A culture of fear has been established for young people and adults who would like to discuss or challenge the ideology based on their own understanding (in material reality) and belief (in law) that biological sex matters and cannot be changed.
